invite you to an Educational Wine Tasting-Dinner.
Please join us for our first in a series of Instructional Wine Tasting-Dinners featuring the great wines of Northern Italy. This will be educational in nature, and fun by design, with food served at stations pairing the perfect wines to compliment each dish. These Tasting-Dinners will be held at Catalano 19 at the Silvermine Golf Club. Many of the wines are produced in small quantities from tiny vineyards. This Tasting-Dinner will pair up the wine and food in three flights. Our tour will take us to Friuli, considered by many to be the source for great whites. Tuscany is known for Sangiovese, Italy’s most important red grape and known to us as Chianti, Vino Nobile and Brunello. Nebbiolo is one of the World’s treasures and produces Barolo, long considered “The king of wines and the wine of Kings.” Our reception will start with a Pinot Grigio grown on the hillsides of Pavia in Lombardy, and finish with the Taliano Birbet, similar to Bracchetto, a pinkish-red slightly sparkling wine that is simply sublime with chocolate. Live Piano Music by Tony Riccio will enhance our Italian experience.
