In France, Burgundy is synonymous with world class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Famous appellations dot the countryside, from Marsannay and Gevrey-Chambertin in the North, to Givry and Pouilly Fuisse South. Here in California, our winemaking laws aren’t nearly as stringent, allowing winemakers all across the state to make wines from these noble grapes. And the results are just as fabulous, with stellar wines coming from such diverse locales, and climates, as Russian River Valley and the Carneros, South through the Central Coast, and continuing down to Monterey and Santa Barbara County. Even luxurious Malibu has begun growing wine grapes, with a fair amount of success. This Thursday, join our good pal, the recently betrothed Kevin Swisher from Wine Warehouse, as he guides you on a tour of some of California’s delicious Chardonnays and Pinots.
