Oakland East Bay Wine-The Judgment of San Ramon - Bottle Shock Tasting

The “Judgment of Paris” did more to advance the world view of California wines than any event in history. It literally shook the ground that the French had so firmly been standing on, high above all others when it came to “World Class” wines. For the first time, California wines were viewed as equals, if not superior to long revered red Bordeaux and white Burgundy. The story is chronicled in the new film, Bottle Shock, which dramatically recreates that fateful event of 1976. This Friday, we’re holding our own “Judgment of San Ramon”, pitting some of our top selling California Cabernets and Chardonnays up against their counterparts from France. In addition, we’ll be raffling off passes to see the film, playing locally at a handful of theaters.
