Oakland East Bay Wine-Lakefest '08: Art & Wine Festival on Lakeshore Avenue

Lakefest’08 includes live music, arts and crafts booths, local vendors, a Green Living Expo, activities for kids, wine tasting, gourmet food booths.

The Wine Tasting Tent is sponsored by Vine Wine Bar and highlights some of the finest boutique wineries in the Bay Area. Wine tasting packages will be available for purchase at the Ticket Booths beginning at 12 PM both days. (Must be 21 & over, photo ID is required). Packages start at $10 and include a commemorative tasting glass and tasting tickets. Beer and wine will be available for sale at the Beverage tent sponsored by Trumer Pils.

On Saturday, the festival will be held in conjunction with the Grand Lake Farmers’ Market and on Sunday, Splash Pad Park will transform into “Art in the Park,” featuring art installations by ProArts (OPEN STUDIOS), chalk art for kids and interactive projects, while local bands and community groups perform on the Splash Pad Community Stage. The festival includes children’s entertainment such as face painting, games, jumpers, art projects and a special appearance by Thunder from the Golden State Warriors.

The Main Stage is sponsored by The Oakland Tribune and Insidebayarea.com. The stage features performances by local bands. Headlining the show is Zion I, performing Sunday, at 4:30 PM. The stage line-up is available online at oaklandlakefest.com.

The Green Living Expo highlights businesses and non-profits whose products and services cover a range of market sectors and sub-sectors, including: green building supplies; socially responsible investing and "green stocks;" alternative healthcare; organic clothing and food; personal development media; yoga and other fitness products; eco-tourism and more. The Green Living Expo is sponsored by The Uptown Apartments.
