FALL WINE CLASSES (First session) IIA
The Introduction Wine Classes
(1) First we’ll Explore the varietals, starting with white wines;
Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Riesling, Gewurztraminer,
Chenin Blanc, and more
(2) We’ll Explore the wine regions in depth;
Sonoma, Napa, Santa Barbara, Oregon, Washington, Bordeaux, Burgundy, The Rhône, The
Loire, Champagne, Alsace, Piemonte, Tuscany, Rioja, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, Marlborough,
Stellenbosch and more. (don’t worry you won’t be tested)
(3) We’ll discuss how to make great wine, and what goes on in the bottle.
(4) Why is one wine 75 points and another on 100 points? Are ratings necessary and how do
effect what we buy and why.
(5) Wine Cellaring & storage, wine buying and collecting. Can you make money on wine?
(6) Everything you need to know to have fun with good to great white wine.
(7) We’ll take a trip to *Ste Rita Hills and meet the winemakers and learn first hand the way
each one approaches his or her wines. (* not included, we will let you know the price of the trip)
FALL WINE CLASSES (Second session) IIB
The Introduction Wine Classes
(1) Now we’ll Explore the red varietals;
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah (Shiraz), Grenache, Sangiovese,
Nebbiolo, Malbec, Anglianico, Tempranillo, and more.
(2) We’ll go inside the worlds wine regions in depth, concentrating on what you want to know;
Sonoma, Napa, Santa Barbara, Oregon, Washington, Bordeaux, Burgundy, The Rhône, The
Loire, Piemonte, Tuscany, Sicilia, Campania, Rioja, and more. (you may be tested)
(3) We’ll discuss how to make great wine, and what goes on in the bottle.
(4) Why is one wine 75 points and another on 100 points? Are ratings necessary and how do
effect what we buy and why. learn how to be more accurate with your scores.
(5) Wine Cellaring & storage, wine buying and collecting.
(6) Everything you need to know to have fun with good to great red wine.
(7) We’ll take a trip to *Ste Rita Hills and meet the winemakers and learn first hand the way
each one approaches his or her wines. (* we will let you know the price of the trip)
(8) We won’t forget the great fortified wines at the end!
