For a night, come experience the deep resonance of Latin America in an appropriate setting. Pablo Fallabrino is pairing his renowned wines with the unique tastes of modern Argentina at Malbec New Argentinean Cuisine, in Pasadena. Malbec is a bistro-style restaurant that opened to rave reviews in April. Chef Alcorta is great. Come make some new friends; say a few toasts if you want; but definitely enjoy wine at its best. Forward this invitation to a friend too; más, el mejor, sí?
After you meet Pablo, savor his wines and learn all about his vineyards, you may want to ask him about the sea turtles of Uruguay or his commitment to organically sustainable vineyards (see About the Winemaker below). It all makes for a good evening and new experiences.

About the Winemaker: Pablo Fallabrino, Uruguay’s youngest winery owner is a fourth generation winemaker from the Piedmont region of Italy. He has an incredible vision for creating unique wines by blending Old World Italian winemaking techniques with New World varietals. He is an avid surfer and ecological steward of his vineyards. His family also runs a sea turtle conservation program in Uruguay.
About His Winery: Viñedo de los Vientos is an organically sustainable boutique winery outside of Montevideo, Uruguay. The vineyard sits less than 2km from the Rio de la Plata, the largest freshwater estuary in the world. The winery’s close vicinity to the Atlantic Ocean and Rio De la Plata creates a climate similar to that of Bordeaux.
About Tannat: The tannat grape originated in Madiran AC and made its way to Uruguay in 1870 where settlers discovered this grape reached optimal ripeness, unlike in France. The tannat grape is one of the most tannic grapes in the world. Combining winemaking styles with varietals such as tannat, winemakers are able to produce not only full-bodied red wines but also extract some of the high levels of polyphenols and anti-oxidants than any other red wine on the planet. Dr. Roger Corder’s book, The Wine Diet, describes Tannat wines as having "anti-oxidant levels four to five times higher than Cabernet Sauvignon." Studies have shown that Tannat wines are among the healthiest red wines on the planet.
About Estival white blend: a blend of 60 percent Gewürztraminer, 30 percent Chardonnay and 10 percent Moscato Bianco with clean, floral aromatics and rounded, refreshing fruitiness (clementines and ripe white peaches). A crisp un-oaked white blend made with an Alsatian flair.
About Alcyone Dessert Wine: A fortified tannat sweet wine that is capturing the attention of wine lovers everywhere! The Washington Post had this to say about Alcyone: "we chilled and tasted it -- and were floored. Alcyone's mesmerizing aroma…called to mind marshmallow-topped hot chocolate, preceded [by] a beguiling array of flavors including creamy cocoa and black-cherry confiture."
