Wine appreciation is not just about knowing what you like. There is a difference between objective quality and subjective enjoyment. Much of the magic of wine lies in being able to properly evaluate bottles, which in turn can lead to an understanding of wine's history and origins. Learn the skill of wine appreciation by tasting and evaluating wines with true oenophile and Rocky Mountain News wine columnist Ben Weinberg ("Weinberg's Wine Notes" in the Wednesday Spotlight). Ben will show you how to analyze the various flavors, aromas and textures of grape expression to better understand what's in your glass. Wine, as well as water and appropriate snacks will be provided. You must be 21 or older and bring a valid photo ID with you to class, to attend. Ben will arrange discounts for students for purchases of tasted wines within one week after they're presented in class.
